Company Commitment |
Silhouette Cruises Ltd has developed and implemented a written safety management system that applies to all levels for the Organization, including:
- all shore-based locations - all vessels; and - all those personnel who are directly involved or employed at these locations and on all vessels. In order to meet our objectives in safety and environmental protection, the Company requires total commitment from all personnel who are directly involved in Company operation. This includes shore-based managers and staff, vessel masters, officers, and crews where applicable. |
Implementation |
The Management is committed to continually improve standards and will actively promote the levels of awareness that such standards demand. Effective training is recognized as being essential to achieve these standards.
The value of each staff member or contractor is recognized as an asset to the Company and a key element in all quality operations. All work will be carried out with health, safety, security, and environmental issues forming an integral part of the procedures. New business or work methods will be implemented with full consideration of all health, safety and security aspects to ensure that the standards required by this Policy are maintained. The Management will assess any changes in policy, practices or equipment necessary to improve standards suggested by all staff and implement such changes as necessary. All incidents will be investigated and recommendations communicated and instigated where appropriate. Each vessel will be supplied with a number of signed copies for display purposes within the accommodation. Copies should be displayed in each Mess Room and the Navigating Bridge. Personnel must be made aware of and instructed in the contents of the Company policy statements and that the policy is supported by the documented Safety Management System. |
Organizational Responsibility |
The Owner/Operator accepts overall responsibility for all matters related to safety and environmental protection.
Our Health, Safety and Environment objectives are as follows: 1) To empower each employee to display leadership in furthering the company's HSE agenda 2) Facilitate an environment that improves risk management 3) Streamline work processes and systems for all employees to have a clear understanding of roles and responsibilities, for the health and safety of themselves and others. Although the MV Tethys Supporter and MV Maya's Dugong are each less than 500 gross tons, both vessels follow ISM codes according to ships exceeding 500 tons. Each vessel is governed by an SMS (safety management system) manual detailing procedures for a variety of HSE regulations and best practices. The SMS combines the best practices from international organisations (IMO, SOLAS, NWEA Guidelines for Safe Management of Offshore Supply and Rig Moving Operations) and has been honed by way of multiple industry audits/inspections from prior charterers/companies and the experience gained from past operations. |
